Buffalo sacrificing procession on Dashain Festival
Nepalese Devotees celebrates by splashing water towards sacrificial buffalo towards the Bramayani Temple on the occasion of Biggest Dashain Festival at Bhaktapur, Nepal Dashain is the most auspicious and biggest celebrated festival in Nepal, which reflects age old traditions and the devotion of the Nepalese towards Goddess Durga.

Sikali jatra or fair in Khokana, where Dashain festival is observed only for five days.The festival begins with sacrifice of three he-buffalo at the local Sidhali temple in Bakha of Khokana.Three guthi or trust in Khokana observes the festival together. The festival ends at Mulpati following worshipping, dancing and feast for five days.“Since we observe Sikali jatra as Dashain we do not have the practice of tika and jamara in Khokana”, said local people.During these Sikali Jatra 14 deities are represented.
