Sikali
Sikali refers to a prominent goddess, temple, and indigenous festival (Sikali Jatra) deeply rooted in the Newar community of Khokana, a traditional heritage village located about 10 kilometers south of Kathmandu in Lalitpur, Nepal.
The Deity & TempleThe Goddess: Sikali (also known as Rudrayani or Ajima) is revered as a powerful mother goddess, a guardian of children, and a local healer.The Temple: Nestled on a peaceful grassy hill surrounded by paddy fields and scenic views of the Chandragiri and Champadevi hills.Etymology: The name likely derives from the Nepal Bhasa word Si (meaning "wood" or "stone") and Kali.

World Heritage Site (WHS) SWOYAMBHUNATH 2026/6/19
After ten years, World Heritage Site (WHS) conservation works have resumed on the stupa. Excess lime plaster added during previous renovations is being carefully removed to reduce structural overload, preserve the monument's authenticity, and ensure its long-term stability.
